Supporting Shiva Sai (from Kammam) 4 months old baby for Liver Transplantation

Master Shiva Sai (S/o T. Ratna Prasad & Surekha) aged four months suffering from Biliary atresia. Mr. Ratna Prasad was a software employee, lost his job during the period of recession last year. After getting treatment for his child at local hospital (Gowthami) in Khammam district, doctors referred to Mahaveer Hospital at Hyderabad.

At Mahaveer hospital, the Baby underwent surgery on 31st January 2010 for Biliary atresia under the supervision of Dr. Madhumohan Reddy of Care Hospital, Hyderabad. Despite of his odd time, Ratna prasad managed money of 1.5 Lakhs for the surgery and post operation expenses, unfortunately surgery turned out to be a failure.

Later doctors at Rainbow (Patient UHID: RCWH.0000097042) - Dr. Ramesh Kancharla of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Global hospitals suggested that, the Baby has to undergo Liver transplantation within 30-40days for his survival. Transplantation is to be carried out under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Rela, a UK-based Liver transplant surgeon at Global Hospitals, Chennai.

 

Funds required:
  • The cost of the surgery: 18.0 lacs Rs
  • Cost of tests and post surgery treatment: 3.0 lacs Rs.
  • Total fund required: 21.0 lacs Rs.

Fund raised so far:

  • Cost waived off by the Global Hospital: 2.0 lacs Rs.
  • Concession from Sakshi Editor Priyadarshini Ram: 4.0 lacs Rs.
  • Funds raised from various donors/assets: 9.5 lacs Rs
  • Total fund raised so far: 15.5 lacs Rs.

Balance required:5.5 lacs ~ 12,500 USD

Ratna Prasad, father of Shiva Sai was working as software technician before and he spent all his savings on the kids's surgery. He do not have a job now and he do not have any assets to support the surgery. There are no other earning members in the family to save the life of Shiva Sai.

Few members came forward to raise the required fund for this case and Spandana deicided to support this case keeping in view the financial background and the criticality of the case.
