Case for Supporting Medical Student at Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.(2008-2009) Appeal to the donors: May 26, 2008 Spandana foundation is seeking donations for supporting meritorious poor Medical student who is in his 2nd year of MBBS at Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, India. The details of the student and his credentials are been mentioned below.
Sudhir Davala, a meritorious poor student from Hyderabad seeking help from donors to complete his Medicine from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad. Sudhir, a native of Badrachalam of Khammam district, Andhra Pradesh, secured 86% in SSC (CBSC) from Javahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khammam district. He is one of the 80 candidates got selected into Javahar Navodaya from Khammam district in the nationwide entrance exam conducted by Govt. of India. Later he joined Holy Junior College in Intermediate under BiPC stream and secured 95.1%. With an excellent academic background, he appeared EAMCET conducted by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh in 2005 and secured 2905 rank, which did not give him a free entrance into Medical College. With out loosing hope, he appeared EMACET again in 2006 and got 513 Rank and joined Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad.
Highlights of his education: On the sudden death of his father, his mother needs to join a small job to pull the family expenses. And she is only the source of income for the family and his college fees and other expenses. But as she is not keeping well, doctors advised her not to go to job and her sister who passed her B.tech (Computers) needs to take the responsibilities of the family. This forced Sudhir also to work part time to support the family expenses and his daily expenses for studies. As his father passes away and as he has to work part time in his first year, Sudhir able to manage only 62% in his first year of MBBS. Sudhir is confident that he can get a good percentage in his second year of Medicine, if he gets the help from Spandana. Looking at his academic profile and talking to him personally about his needs, and with the feedback that we got from the Professor of Gandhi Medical College, Spandana decided to help him for the rest of his MBBS Education.
