Swine-flu You are aware that Swine-Flu is getting worse and it is taking its toll across the globe. The countries like India are going to get affected badly as lot of people all less hygienic andĀ  ignorance on these kind of effects. Even the Govt is not yet realized the importance of prevention and it is going to take few more weeks or months to take necessary steps. Even though the Govt take steps on creating infrastructure and medical facilities to treat the H1N1 affected people, I am seeing a little hope on educating people on H1N1 and work towards prevention.

Here are our thoughts on what we can do-

  • We will do awareness campaigns in all the schools in possible districts. We will hire/take a TV and DVD Player and show short films on H1N1 to all the students in each school. We can cover as many as 4-5 schools a day by each team.
  • We will distribute masks free of cost to all the students (We can explore the possibility of getting them stitched in local places to reduce the cost)
  • We will distribute 2 page printed material (1 page on H1N1 and 1 page on how to prevent it) to all the students
  • We will organize written/verbal/painting competitions to all the schools on H1N1. We will give prizes for top 3 in each school.

What do we need do execute this project?

- At least 3-5 volunteers in each place. Need more if we wanted to do it multiple places of the district at same time
- A vehicle (preferably a van or jeep) to carry a TV and DVD Player
- Video/Animation/documentary on H1N1
- PrintingĀ  material on H1N1 (Swine-Flu)
- May not required to have a doctor or nurse assistant for this. Any one who can operate TV/DVD player should do
- Possible collaboration with local hospitals to refer the cases if found.
- Money & Time to execute this

We strongly feel the organizations like us should pitch in and do the necessary measures to show our commitment to better society. Please give your thoughts on resources, execution and money.

Have a look at few videos on H1N1 for more information.
