Spandana charity T-10 Cricket Tournament Rules
Disclaimer: Spandana will not be responsible for any injury caused on the ground of play or outside it to any player or audience. A First-Aid kit would be provided in case of accidental injuries. Spandana will follow all the rules laid out by the ICC one day format rules while conducting the tournament unless otherwise specified in this document. If any rule is not covered or not clear in the below document, the decision of the umpires will be final. Tournament Rules: - Umpires decisions are final. - Matches will be played using hard Tennis Ball. - Each innings of a match consists of 10 Overs. - Minimum of 8 Batsmen has to bat. Each team will get a change to bat until 10 batsmen are out. For example, if a team has 13 Batsmen available at the ground, all 13 can bat as long as they do not loose 10 wickets (Some people can retire in between). Captain of the team and umpires with the help of scorer has to keep track of this. - Minimum 5 Bowlers has to Bowl and maximum can be 10. - Maximum no of overs that a bowler can Bowl in a match is 2. - Toss will be done on time. If one of the team is not ready for the toss, the toss will be awarded to the opposition team. - There is no need to provide playing 11 list before the toss. Any one from the team list can play and players can join at any stage of the game. - If the match starts without 11 players (but with a minimum of 7 players from the team list) - Then the BOWLING team can substitute for the 8th to 11th positions with the other players from the opposite team. - The 8th to 11th players can be joined at any stage of the game and they are allowed to Bat/Bowl as soon as they are in the ground if required. - Batting team can bat until 10 players are outs. - If there is any water present in the ground, Umpires and both the captains has to make a decision before the match. This may be applicable to the Normal ground(Old Ground) due to water gutter. - The TWO UMPIRES on ground MAKE A DECISION on interruptions due to rain or bad light. Both the teams should stay on the ground till this decision is made. - The match will be continued / discontinued upon the decision made by THE TWO UMPIRES. - If a match is stopped after 3 overs are being bowled in the first innings, then the match will be continued from the point where it was stopped. If a match is stopped before 3 overs are being bowled in the first innings, then the match will be replayed from beginning. This rule holds good for league, semis and finals. - Team standings in each pool will be decided based on points. Each winning team will be awarded with 2 points. In case of a tie, each team will be awarded with one point. If the final points are same then run rate will decide the standings. - Top team from pool P and Top team from pool C will play in First Semi Final. Top team from pool A and Top team from pool V will play in Second Semi Final. - There will a designated place on the ground for each of the teams. Since this tournament is meant for fun, teams are encouraged to invite their supporters to accompany them to have fun. But advises players not to react to the comments from spectators. - Unruly behavior towards the crowd, umpires or the opposite teams will not be tolerated under any circumstance. The captain is expected to maintain decorum on the ground. - It is the responsibility of the team to which the umpire belongs to ensure that he shows up for his slot. In case no one shows up on time without prior intimation, the playing team should inform to the SCC ASAP so that they will find a suitable replacement. - No drinks break during an innings. - 10 min break will be given between the innings. - Spandana will form a Committee (Spandana Cricket Committee) to resolve any issues that may occur during the matches. Spandana Cricket Committee (SCC) will take care of the following: § Come up with new date and time for the interrupted matches. Also SCC will try to stick to same ground as scheduled but if there is a conflict, these matches could be scheduled on another ground than the scheduled ground. § Call SCC members in case no one is available on the ground to do umpiring. § Call SCC members if umpires have any questions during the matches. § Call SCC if KIT is not on the ground on time. (SCC member names will be made available in the KIT bag and communicated to the captains and umpires later) General Notes: - Spandana will provide drinks at the ground for the players. - Please do not litter on the ground - No alcohol is permitted in the ground. - Car-pooling is recommended. - Bring your supporters. - Keeping the ground Clean: It is the responsibility of each team to clean the mess after the match is over.
