Thoti Govindaswamy- a Poor man suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury Sequelae
Spandana Foundation is supporting to provide medical treatment for a poor person Thoti Govindaswamy, who is suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury Sequelae which requires a regular follow up for atleast 2-3 years with regular Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Speech therapy. The details of the case has been enlisted below.

Spandana received a request to help a 35-year poor man for his medical treatment. Thoti Gonvindawamy, is suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury Sequelae. He needs medical care. He is working as a Field Assistant in NREGS Upadi Hami Pathakam in Pillari Kuppam, Chittoor, AP. His approximate monthly income is Rs.1200. He met with an accident last year on Sep 4th 2009. His brain was injured and blood clotted inside. Due to this his right hand and right leg were paralyzed. He has been going with Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy and Hand Therapy treatments from more than 5 months. If it doesn’t cure the problem, Doctor said he may need to go through a Brain Surgery to dissolve the blood clots. Govindaswamy was in coma for 6 days after the accident. Girish pulled all the resources (savings, land sale and private loans) to get the initial surgery done on Govinda Swamy. It costed them over Rs.1,60,000/- . A poor family like Govindaswamy can not supoort such a huge expenses.
Financial Background:
He gets salary Rs 1,200 per month as a Field Assistant. He is married and has one 2 years old daughter. His wife, daughter and father are depend on him financially. He has one younger brother Girish who is working as a teacher in a private school. Girish's salary is Rs 4,000 per month. As the aged father and sick wife can not take care Govindaswamy, his brother Girish quit his private job and taking care of his brother. Govindaswamy's family is not having any income now and struugling to sabe the life of the head of the family. The personal loans from freidns(Rs 30,000) and Bank Loan(Rs 10,000) helped Girish to treat his brother for last 5 months. They don't have any assets or property to sell and utilize that money for the treatments. Now, he has no money and no ways to get the money to continue the treatments for his brother. He has tried all the possible ways. He would like to request Spandana organisation to help his brother treatments through therapies.

Positive thing is- Girish would like to go to work and save money for his brother's treatment after 12 months. He is requesting help only for initial 12 months.
